The Seed and Reference Culture Technologist is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the bacterial and virus seed culture systems as well as reference cultures and standards.
Key Accountabilities
To establish and implement standard methods and procedures for isolates, cell and seed cultures as well as reference culture preservation, storage, preparation, characterisation, maintenance and transportation according to ISO 17025 and OIE requirement and guidelines.
To establish specification sheets for isolates, master and working seed cultures as well as reference cultures and materials.
Establishment and maintenance of records pertaining to isolates and seed cultures as well as reference cultures, materials preservation, storage, preparation, characterisation, quality control and maintenance to establish traceability to SI units of measurement or certified reference materials.
Responsible for the establishment and preparation of bacterial and virus seed culture and reference systems as well as the in-process Quality control thereof.
Responsible for the preservation, storage and indexing of the isolates, cell and seed cultures, reference cultures and material.
Qualification:
National Diploma in Veterinary Technology or relevant qualification (B.Tech, B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in microbiological analyses of biopharmaceutical products
Knowledge and understanding of biopharmaceutical production processes.
Knowledge of eGMP, clean room and sterile practises and procedures.
Knowledge and experience in handling and culturing of bacteria and viruses
Knowledge and experience in general cell culturing techniques.
